Dear Partners and Friends,
Satan does not hate religion but actually likes it, tries to make it work for him, uses it to his advantage. When he got caught in his rebellion, his revolt, his mutiny in Heaven, when he was the number four guy in the Kingdom of God, he was trying to rise up the sides of the North and overthrow the great King, says the Scriptures. He wasn’t trying to get rid of religion, he was trying to take it over!
The temptation in the Garden of Eden was not to get rid of religion but the purpose was to get Adam and Eve to climb up and be as God. Satan has tried to attack the Church from the outside and now he is attacking from the inside; the 5th column. He still wants to overthrow the great King. He is the great pretender, the counterfeiter. Jesus, says the Scriptures, is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, but the devil goes about as a roaring lion. He is not a lion, he acts like a lion. He is the counterfeiter, the fake, the phony.
We must have, we crave the real thing, true Christianity; living supernaturally, living not just with the sensational or the spectacular but the miraculous. God wants our lives miraculous. In fact I think that God is tired of preachers and churches not having miracles, not having salvations, not truly helping the people.
Acts chapter 5 and also chapter 8 show us that when there is revival and a great move of the Holy Spirit that we can also expect satanic activity. Most of the Church can’t tell the difference. Don’t be dazzled by the satanic force of false religion, of counterfeit Christianity, and don’t be deceived by the superficial faith of false religion.
A very powerful and very well known witchdoctor in the jungles of Burma had built a building, a jungle building, actually a very large thatched hut. This was very special and pretty much unequaled, as he was training 600 ardent and chosen students in the dark arts of witchcraft. (I met my first of countless witchdoctors and voodoo priests, etc., 41 years ago in the jungles of Panama at age 18. It was 1968, so when I talk of these things it is up close and personal, true experience, not theory. I have talked to them, fought with them, withstood them to the face, got them saved, cast out their devils, gotten them filled with the Holy Spirit and watched them go into the ministry. I have interviewed them before and after and therefore have a pretty good working knowledge of their activities.)
It might interest you to know the law of the jungle is that when two parties or men meet on a trail, the greater man keeps the trail and the lesser man moves off the trail in deference, and many times fear. I have met my fair share of witchdoctors and holy men face to face on trails. FYI, I have never moved off the trail, they have moved for me, even when I was just 18.
This man in Burma thought he was the power of God in the region. Acts 8:9 – 11: But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
He saw a flyer in a village that was inviting people and pastors to come to a particular village and hear me speak for several days. Some of the things on the flyer said come see a man sent by God, the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk . . .
When this demon possessed minister of Satan saw the flyer, it made him really mad as he, “Gave out that he was some great one . . . and that the people said he was the great power of God and of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.” Sorcery is just witchcraft, and it’s real, not just superstition. It is also alive and operating in the world, the USA and even the Church.
A white bird then appeared to him and told him that he must go to my meetings and hear things that would change his life. That made him angrier. Three days later the bird came again and repeated the message. So he walked for four days to be at my meeting and his intention was to disrupt it and show everyone who the real man of God was.
In the early cool jungle mist the pastors and the crowd had gathered looking forward to hearing a Word from God to change their lives and to increase their faith and to receive a touch from God in their lives, bodies, families and ministries. As I took the platform a worried pastor stopped me and said, “Brother Terry, see that man sitting off to the side all alone?” I saw the man far away from the crowd. His body language announced to everyone that he was not happy; he was not there to participate, hold hands and sing Kumbaya around the village fire. I told the pastor it would be ok, but he stopped me again and told me who he was and told me of his power and of his demonic school. He told me he had come to make trouble and one more thing, that it was well known that he was deaf in one ear. I told the pastor to sit down, that it would be fine. I said I actually feel sorry for him, he doesn’t stand a chance. I said, I could write this report in advance.
As I gave the opening welcome and greeting, and started the opening blessing prayer, we all heard this witchdoctor jump up and yell, “I can hear, I can hear.” All glory to God! I called him to the front, cast devils out of him, got him saved, filled with the Spirit and he took a front row seat for every session. At the end of the seminar he told me he was going to put a cross on the top of his school and make it a church, and that he was going to pastor. I told him it was too soon for him to pastor but we would send pastors with him until he became qualified. He is still going strong.
Last month I shared with you our desire for you to pray for and with us, and that we must have $100.000.00 soon, that we were facing some things that were not just demonic attacks but also caused by and driven by wicked and unreasonable people. You know there are people with right heads and wrong hearts, and also people with right hearts and wrong heads. I can work or walk a long way with someone who has a right clean heart but just a wrong head, but I won’t walk across the street with someone who has a right head, knows and says all the right things, but has a wrong and unclean heart. So these things and many partners not being able to keep their commitments is the cause for the need of this large influx of money. Many of you did send extra funds, thank you so much. One partner even sent a $10,000.00 offering and we were able to begin to move on things and go in the right direction, but the need, the crisis is still very real and must be dealt with. I know you and us together can and will get this done. Thank you for praying and interceding and for increased and miracle faith giving to show the salvation of God, that the Word works. So please call it done and see it through with us this month. You’ve always come through and we together have changed nations and countless lives.
